Tell us about your role at Climate Connect Aotearoa?

I lead the marketing and outreach initiatives at Climate Connect Aotearoa. As a hub we're about creating connections and working together to innovate and deliver solutions for system-wide climate challenges. Our approach is distinct and requires engagement with diverse groups ranging from government and industry to academia, Māori and community groups. My role is to effectively communicate our kaupapa and increase awareness and engagement with our projects and offerings.

What’s one thing you hope to achieve through Climate Connect Aotearoa?

We want to grow and continue innovating in this space. Ultimately, my goal is to get more people engaging with our initiatives, and more partners and innovators on board. This collaboration is key to creating solutions that will contribute to shaping a region that's equitable, climate-resilient, and low-carbon.

What drives you to do this mahi?

My love for Tāmaki Makaurau, the place where I grew up and which I call home. This connection drives me, particularly as we face the challenges of climate change. As a parent, I do worry about my children’s future. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the climate crisis, yet I believe in our collective capacity to make a difference. My aim is to be able to look into my children's eyes one day and say that I did my bit!

What do you do when you’re not working?

I enjoy reading, watching films, podcasts, going to the theatre, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Probably my favourite thing to do these days is hiking. Aotearoa is so beautiful, and for me it’s like meditation - great for clearing the mind and reducing stress.
