Climate Connect Aotearoa brings together business, government, Māori, academia, funders and investors, and climate innovators to create the solutions required to ensure Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Aotearoa New Zealand adapt and thrive in the face of climate change.

Our kaupapa is to accelerate the uptake of innovation to support Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri: Auckland’s Climate Plan and its goals to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030, build resilience and deliver a resilient, low-carbon and regenerative economy.

Te Ora ō Tāmaki Makaurau

To fully address the implications of climate change, we align the hub’s activities with Te Ora ō Tāmaki Makaurau Wellbeing Framework and ensure that Te Tiriti o Waitangi is foundational to our climate actions.

Te Ora ō Tāmaki Makaurau is a te ao Māori wellbeing framework developed by mana whenua in parallel with Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri. It describes our world as a dynamic and complex ecosystem of whakapapa interconnections and interdependencies. Without considering these connections, and the balance between them over generations, we cannot fully address the implications of climate change with a just transition for all.
