Climate Connect Aotearoa and Ara Ake are joining forces to bring renewable and innovative energy solutions to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Ara Ake and Climate Connect Aotearoa’s partnership can assist innovators and communities to understand and navigate the energy sector and bring together the right actors to make change happen.

Ara Ake was established by the Government in 2020 to accelerate Aotearoa New Zealand's transition to a low-emissions and equitable energy future. Its purpose is to reduce the time, cost and risk associated with the development, deployment and commercialisation of energy innovation in Aotearoa New Zealand, by leveraging national and international knowledge and networks.

Briony Bennett, the Energy Innovation Manager for Climate Connect Aotearoa and Ara Ake, sat down with Ara Ake’s Chief Executive Dr Cristiano Marantes to discuss the role of collaboration and community in clean energy innovation, and the importance of finding ways forward that are consistent with te ao Māori.
