Māori Climate Innovators Business Growth Programme 

The Māori Climate Innovators Business Growth Programme supports Māori-led solutions that respond to the challenges and opportunities of a changing climate. 

Delivered by Climate Connect Aotearoa, Te Kawerau ā Maki, and Te Puna Creative Hub, the programme provides hands-on business support, expert mentoring, and funding to help Māori innovators grow ideas into impactful ventures. 

Whether you’re developing a circular economy initiative, a nature-based solution, or a technology grounded in mātauranga Māori, this kaupapa is designed to nurture your potential and connect you to a network of like-minded innovators.

  • Opportunity to apply for mentoring and pitch for seed funding after the masterclasses

Who it’s for 

The programme is open to Māori innovators, entrepreneurs, and businesses who are developing or growing ideas with a climate or sustainability focus. Your kaupapa might include: 

  • Applying mātauranga Māori in climate change responses
  • Nature-based or circular economy solutions
  • Clean tech, energy, or emissions reduction innovations
  • Projects that restore and protect moana, whenua, or awa
  • Innovations in the built environment, waste, or water management sectors 

Applicants must whakapapa Māori (or have 50% Māori ownership) and be ready to participate actively in a 12-month programme of learning and collaboration
