Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Māori Climate Innovators Business Growth Programme?

The Māori Climate Innovators Business Growth Programme is a new programme designed to support Māori-led businesses with existing climate innovation that is ready to grow, develop, or scale. It is not a startup or idea-stage programme.

Selected innovators will receive expert-led masterclasses, access to connections and collaboration, and the opportunity to apply for one-on-one mentoring and pitch for growth and develpment funding to advance their venture.

The programme has two phases:

  • Phase One begins on 26 March 2026 and includes a series of in-person and online masterclasses led by mātanga (experts) in areas such as law/IP, branding, access to capital, sustainability certifications, finance 101, and AI.
  • Phase Two will open via a second Expression of Interest (EOI) in May 2026 and will offer selected innovators access to in-depth one-on-one mentoring and an opportunity to pitch for growth funding (more details will be released closer to the time).

We’ll be adding more detail about the experts leading each masterclass soon, so check back for updates.

Is there a cost to participate?

No, there is no cost for businesses. The programme is fully funded to support eligible pakihi, with no repayment or equity requirements.

What happens after I apply?
